Flo Beers

Human Resources Manager

I spent 13 years working in Rural and Surburban Clackamas County as a Paramedic and fell in love with Rural Clackamas County. As a First Responder, I saw the need for services in rural areas. When I found AntFarm, I could see their vision and how it could help bring those services to the rural areas. I knew that I wanted to be a part of their mission. I love being a part of a team that helps find individual's that have that same drive to help people in the many different programs at AntFarm.

Flo started as an Administrative Associate and quickly moved into the Human Resources Manager position.  She enjoys taking care of our staff and keeping our organization running smoothly behind the scenes.  Flo also oversees our volunteer intake process, so connect with her if you are interested in volunteering at AntFarm!

Sheila Gilronan

Cafe and Bakery Manager

My father was the cook in our family. He brought joy to the table, singing over spaghetti sauce, reciting Shakespeare to his casseroles. Feeding his family became an outpouring of love. The seeds of my passion for cooking were planted. Then came restaurant work which sparked a new reverence: service, guest experience, and the art of feeding one’s community. I was blessed with my first restaurant and then a second. When my restauranteur years concluded, I remained in food service as a private cook, as Kitchen Manager at a retirement community, and as Kitchen Manager for a Brew Pub in the Columbia River Gorge. My special talent was an innate ability to bring order out of chaos. I value the importance of flexibility in a dynamic setting. In each of these incarnations, love and service remain my North Star.

Sheila supports and trains the youth of our community, infusing the learning experience with team work and kindness. Her vast management experience contributes to a cohesive working environment between BOH (kitchen) and FOH (baristas.) Because the Cafe is the face of AntFarm and all of its programs, Sheila is committed to excellent customer service, a welcoming environment and healthy food.

Logan Hancock

Community Wildfire Defense Program Manager

Work Cell: (503) 427-8501
loganh@antfarmyouthservices.com

The 2020 wildfire season was a wake-up call for many Oregonians, myself included. Our rural communities have a lot of work to do to be prepared for the next major fire, and it’s very fulfilling to assist homeowners in planning and carrying out mitigation projects. Working outside with youth interested in fire, forestry, and tree care is always rewarding, and I’m very proud of the fuels reduction crew and what they’ve accomplished so far. They’ve become a real asset to our mountain communities in the ongoing effort to become truly resilient and fire-adapted.

Logan has been on board since 2021 when AntFarm first received funding to do wildfire mitigation work. He’s a Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist through the National Fire Protection Association. Logan manages our Community Wildfire Defense Program, which provides no-cost property assessments and fuels reduction work to homeowners across rural Clackamas County.

Neal Hatley

Director of Workforce Development

Work Cell: (704) 506-0094
nealh@antfarmyouthservices.com

Growing up on the farm, my Grandpa used to say “Any job worth doing is worth doing right.” This is a lesson I try every day to teach to our youth. There’s a lot of different tools that will get a job done, but taking the extra time to determine the best one will help you ensure that it is done right. Whether we are building a trail up on the mountain with one of our YouthCore Teams or cutting the grass for one of our seniors through CommunityConnect, the idea of building core values through our work is always front and center.

Neal’s prior experience and passion for helping youth makes him a great asset to AntFarm. Neal oversees all Outdoor services including YouthCore, CommunityConnect, Woodlot, Planet 365, and Workforce and Public Land Contracts. He manages our largest group of youth volunteers and employees. They are all in great hands.

I have lived in Oregon all my life. I come from a life of lived experience within trauma, addiction, mental health, homelessness, and not having enough to get by. I have always wanted to help those going through similar situations to mine. I have been actively working in housing social work since 2017, educating myself in addiction and homeless services emphasizing housing, and helping others gain long-term stability. My professional goal is to foster stability in our underserved communities, and I am glad to have the opportunity to act on that goal while working at AntFarm.

Evan came to Antfarm as the Manager of Housing Services and is now the Director of Housing Services after showing his invaluable strength as a compassionate leader. He brings care and understanding only someone with lived experience can offer. Through his personal story, Evan shares insight and builds confidence in the people who are going through some of the hardest challenges in life.

Cierra Miller

Director of Cafe and Bakery

cierram@antfarmyouthservices.com

If I were to look back at my childhood, the most consistent and profound memories I have with family and friends are all centered around the table. Nourishing food, big laughs, and the unspoken but unanimous commitment to gather around a meal and connect. I now realize as an adult how fortunate I was to have experienced that ritual. Little did I know I’d eventually be drawn towards fostering that same concept as a part of my work, and ultimately become an advocate for community. The two seem to go naturally hand in hand, so it makes sense that I’ve come to this place in my career. I truly believe there’s an intrinsic pull we all feel, regardless of our roots, that we want that same experience of connection through community. And it’s simple what the Cafe and Bakery is holding space for: a wholesome menu, and a welcoming environment for anybody and everyone to gather and connect. And I’m lucky to help cultivate that for our community.

Cierra originally worked for AntFarm from 2015-2018, beginning as a barista and then becoming the Cafe and Bakery Manager. After holding various managerial positions away from the organization, she returned to AntFarm in 2023. Cierra works closely with the Cafe Manager to help oversee and direct the daily operations and long-term goals of the Cafe and Bakery but still loves to jump in as a barista occasionally like the good ole’ days.

Working in a non-profit organization and networking with others who do the same work made me realize, how big of an impact we are in our community's life. We are the voice of our community. Two Foxes Singing (Nunpa)

Executive Director

When my partner and I established AntFarm years ago, we did so from the teachings of Frank Fools Crow. He spoke a basic truth: “Survival of the world depends on our sharing what we have and working together.”  It is through these words I discovered my passion that positive change occurs when community works together. Focusing on youth as the next generation and seniors as those with the experience and history of the past has definitely demonstrated the positive change necessary to make Grandfather Fools Crow words a reality.  When we support each other, regardless of political or personal beliefs, we always find common ground and discover healthy ways to live together.  I am thankful that AntFarm has become a place where healing occurs for all people.

Two Foxes Singing, known as Nunpa, is an Occupational Therapist, community leader, and youth advocate.  With his life partner of 20+ years, Nunpa and Damon founded AntFarm in 1997. Damon continues to provide support for staff and programs, while Nunpa serves as the Executive Director overseeing our Café & Bakery, grants & funding, accounting, and systems administration.

Kami Smith

Outdoor Services Manager

Phone: : (971) 266-3694
kamis@antfarmyouthservices.com

Growing up, I was always the "tom boy". I wanted to be just like my big brother and I thought boy stuff was far more fun. My love of bugs reptiles and everything outdoors started at a very early age. As a kid we were given an option of staying inside and doing the dishes and laundry or going outside and doing yard work. You could always count on me wanting to be outside. As an adult, I haven't changed that much. My favorite things are working outside, camping, backpacking, and taking care of my animals and son. My son and I love to snowboard together. Being a part of AntFarm reminds me of home and raising my son. I truly care about the youth at AntFarm, and I always feel like a "mama bear" to them.

Kami is a licensed Real Estate agent, insurance agent, and notary. She came to AntFarm in the slow season of Real Estate to keep herself busy. She started as an Outdoor Lead in Estacada. After only a month, we asked if she would be interested in being the Outdoor Programs Manager. She was thrilled to take the position. As the Outdoor Programs Manager, she schedules all of the outdoor jobs and assigns the necessary crews. She oversees the crews of youth to help guide them in making good decisions and learning work skills.

Anne Stevens

Director of Human Resources & Operations

When I was a struggling new mother, I sought out the help of a non-profit breastfeeding group. I was so thankful for the support, I wanted to give back to others. I became a volunteer supporting other mothers and that organization for 10 years. Realizing the importance of non-profits and volunteering, I also started helping at a local horse rescue where I continue to volunteer today. My passion for non-profits and volunteering led me to AntFarm. I see lives positively impacted daily from AntFarm’s program: satisfied customers, accomplished tutors, excited youth, thankful community members, and fulfilled employees. I am so grateful to contribute my skills to and be a part of this incredible organization.

As our Director of Human Resources and Operations, Anne brings to AntFarm the skills and knowledge to keep us organized and following policies and procedures. Anne and her team are in charge of human resources, operations, communications, risk management, facilities management, quality management, and training and development.

Laura Sullivan

Manager of Housing Services

Office Phone: (503) 908-9077
lauras@antfarmyouthservices.com

Prior to working at AntFarm, I studied Political Science with a focus on Legislative Processes. I was an intern and an aide in congressional offices and congressional campaigns in Maryland, Virginia, and DC. Being radicalized by my experience in legislative politics, I realized how excellent service is missing from most facets of our society’s political processes. My professional goals are tied to my profound caring for underserved communities; I want to be a professional advocate for unhoused individuals, initiate legislative action, and sway lawmakers toward meaningful support for our underserved communities. My personal goals are to never stop playing songs, be an ally, and spend time in nature every day.

Laura is the Manager of our Housing Services. She started as a Housing Case Manager and then became our Housing Navigator before her promotion to Manager. Laura is a huge advocate and support for our clients, our partners, and our housing team.

Juanita Aniceto Vera

Director of Nuevo Futuro

“Ni de aqui ni de alla” (neither from here, nor from there). This phrase is locked in my heart. I came to a country that I didn’t belong, but left a country that I can’t come back to because the moments I felt I did not belong there anymore. My parents brought me to a county in search of a better future. However, it turned out to be a life time of stress, of discrimination, of isolation, and of bullying. I have experience injustice growing up, but it has made me stronger and a better person. Working with youth and families where I can support them to over come obstacles for a better future is my passion. I want to make sure that when they wake up, they can smile because they belong to this community. A community full of compassion, of support, of understanding, and a community of culture and acceptance.

Juanita is the Director of Nuevo Futuro. In our Nuevo Futuro (New Future) program, Juanita and her team of Promotores de Recursos (Resource Promoters) provide support to Latinx and Hispanic communities in rural Clackamas County in finding and accessing resources. She works hard to grow our presence and get the word out about our services in our small communities and support underserved minorities.
