John Hardesty

Board of Directors Vice President

John Hardesty moved to Sandy in 2021 from the Troutdale and Gresham area, drawn by the quieter pace of a small town and the space that comes with it. He values the sense of community in Sandy and the opportunity to invest locally alongside others who care about where they live.

John joined AntFarm’s Board of Directors because the organization closely aligns with the values and commitments of his family’s own nonprofit work. He shared that he is honored to support the AntFarm team and appreciates being part of a group that serves with purpose, collaboration, and a shared desire to help others thrive.

As Vice President, John brings more than 20 years of construction experience and a steady leadership approach that supports thoughtful discussion while still encouraging decisiveness. He currently works for Walsh Construction, where he has grown from carpenter to superintendent over nearly two decades. John also brings a long history of volunteer service, from community cleanups to meal service, and he cares deeply about helping build strong, welcoming environments wherever he serves.

Outside of AntFarm, John plays bass on his church worship team and enjoys being outdoors, including hiking, backpacking, camping, biking, and especially snowboarding.

“Work to create an atmosphere that others want to be in, and the rest will come.”
