Amy Hatley-Hardesty
Amy Hatley-Hardesty has deep roots in Sandy, having lived and worked in the community for the last five years, as well as attending high school locally before moving away and eventually returning. She describes Sandy as a place defined by a strong sense of community and a shared desire to show up for one another, and she says her family, nonprofit work, and love for the town have made it home in ways she never expected.
She was drawn to AntFarm because it is one of the rare places where community transformation happens in tangible, personal ways, one relationship, one conversation, and one encouraged young person at a time. Through years of partnering on events and witnessing AntFarm’s steady presence for youth, families, and vulnerable neighbors, joining the board felt like a natural extension of what she values most: mentorship, belonging, and a strong local safety net.
As a board member, Amy hopes to bring community partnership experience, nonprofit leadership, and a deep commitment to youth development. She enjoys supporting AntFarm’s work around mentorship, life skills, and healthy community spaces, and she leans into collaboration, communication, and relationship-building to strengthen outreach and connections with local organizations.
Outside of board service, Amy loves being outdoors snowboarding, hiking, and backpack camping, and she enjoys spending time with her family. She also shared that her faith is central to how she lives and serves her community.
“If you never ask, the answer is always no.”
