The Outdoor Lead guides youth and the Assistant Outdoor Lead in carrying out outdoor service projects within AntFarm’s YouthCore and CommunityConnect programs. This position combines hands-on outdoor work with leadership and teaching responsibilities, modeling professionalism, safety, and teamwork while helping youth gain confidence and transferable job skills. The Outdoor Lead plans and leads community jobs such as landscaping, trail clearing, tree and shrub trimming, spreading gravel or mulch, window cleaning, and wood splitting. This position ensures job quality, promotes a safe and supportive work environment, and creates opportunities for youth to learn through hands-on experience, reflection, and responsibility. The Outdoor Lead embodies AntFarm’s values of helpfulness, integrity, responsiveness, and collaboration while fostering a positive learning culture for all participants. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience leading or mentoring youth in outdoor, labor, or service-based work. 
  • Skills and experience in landscaping, construction, maintenance, or related fields. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. 
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to model professional behavior. 
  • Valid driver’s license required; experience driving larger vehicles or towing trailers preferred. 

Reports to: Outdoor Services Manager (Sandy & Estacada); Workforce Programs Manager (Molalla) 
Classification: Non-exempt
Pay: $20-24/hour depending on experience
Schedule: 30-40 hours weekly
