Shaun DeBoer
Shaun DeBoer has lived in Sandy since 2007 and appreciates the small-town feel and space that larger cities often lack. Over the years, he has enjoyed seeing the community grow while still holding onto the values that make it feel grounded and connected.
Shaun joined AntFarm’s Board of Directors because he wants to help young people while they are still young and support them with guidance, direction, and opportunity. He believes strongly in helping youth build stable futures before life becomes harder, and he sees AntFarm as a meaningful place to invest that energy and care.
With nearly 30 years in the electrical trade, Shaun brings hands-on expertise and a strong commitment to helping guide youth into the skilled trades, especially in areas that are often overlooked in traditional school settings. He also served on the board of a local family shelter for five years, strengthening his belief that mentorship and support can be life changing. Shaun became even more interested in AntFarm after seeing its presence throughout town through the café, gardens, farmer’s market, and bottle drop programs, and he shared that he and his wife were excited to get involved after connecting with Kim Wheeler.
Outside of board service, Shaun enjoys traveling with his wife, home improvement projects, golfing, fishing, hunting, barbequing, kayaking, and boating.
“Do not whine, do not complain, work harder!”
