Sheila Gilronan
My father was the cook in our family. He brought joy to the table, singing over spaghetti sauce, reciting Shakespeare to his casseroles. Feeding his family became an outpouring of love. The seeds of my passion for cooking were planted. Then came restaurant work which sparked a new reverence: service, guest experience, and the art of feeding one’s community. I was blessed with my first restaurant and then a second. When my restauranteur years concluded, I remained in food service as a private cook, as Kitchen Manager at a retirement community, and as Kitchen Manager for a Brew Pub in the Columbia River Gorge. My special talent was an innate ability to bring order out of chaos. I value the importance of flexibility in a dynamic setting. In each of these incarnations, love and service remain my North Star.
Sheila supports and trains the youth of our community, infusing the learning experience with team work and kindness. Her vast management experience contributes to a cohesive working environment between BOH (kitchen) and FOH (baristas.) Because the Cafe is the face of AntFarm and all of its programs, Sheila is committed to excellent customer service, a welcoming environment and healthy food.
