AntFarm Learning Garden
The AntFarm Learning Garden greets those who enter the City of Sandy from the west. The garden’s purpose is primarily to educate youth and families in all aspects of gardening and food production. We also support elders and seniors by pairing them with young people in internships on a garden plot. In our monthly classes, community-members and youth learn about beekeeping, organic gardening, soil science and more.
While the garden will produce food for the Mount Hood Farmers Market and the AntFarm Café, our goal is that it be a place of learning and inspiration for youth and the Sandy community.
Future goals for the Learning Garden: Stepping stone paths, accessible raised beds, a honey bee station, a terraced picnic and shady gathering area.
